In Lakes is the independent monthly for Kendal, Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere and the nearby lakes. Hotels, restaurants, takeaways and shops pay monthly to be in Lakes. Those places are marked.
What we cover
Kendal. Windermere. Bowness-on-Windermere. The water and the inns that sit between them. That is the map. We do not stretch to Ambleside, Keswick, or a vague “Lake District” catch-all — other sites already do that.
The monthly edition
The magazine is free to read online. A monthly edition is emailed to subscribers. If you want it, leave an address on the homepage.
How it is paid for
In Lakes is funded by listed, featured and partner placements — hotels, restaurants, takeaways and shops. If a business has paid, the card is marked Pinned or Listed.
What we will not do
